
Sharlene J. Aitken
Prior to joining Highlands Ranch Law Center, P.C., Mrs. Aitken was an associate with Anne Whalen Gill, LLC, a boutique law firm specializing in appeals. Since 2006, Mrs. Aitken's practice has focused exclusively on prosecuting and defending civil appeals in the Colorado Court of Appeals. Mrs. Aitken also utilizes her prior trial litigation and paralegal skills in helping clients to prosecute or defend contempt and remand hearings. Mrs. Aitken has several published family law opinions including In re Marriage of Connerton and Nevin, --P.3d--, 2010 WL 3584282, Colo. App., September 16, 2010 (No. 09CA1642) and In re J.A.V., 206 P.3d 467 (Colo. App. 2009).
In law school, Mrs. Aitken received the American Jurisprudence Award in Advanced Trial Practice. She was also the recipient of the Barrister's Appellate Advocacy Competition Award for Best Brief.

Personal Information and Community Service:
Mrs. Aitken moved to the Denver area from Southern California to attend law school. She spends most of her personal time with her husband and two daughters including enjoying Colorado's outdoor life, camping and boating. Mrs. Aitken is an active volunteer and participant of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure since 1995.
